Subscriptions Account Specialist

Location: At our publishing offices in downtown Norfolk, Nebraska
Job Status: Full-time
Salary: Based on skills and experience

 
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Answer phones and assist walk-in traffic.

2) Enter subscription and product orders.

3) Maintain subscriber records

4) Create and mail subscriber invoices, statements and gift cards.

5) Mail, track and bill newsstands.

6) Create and generate circulation reports for management.

7) Track financials and prepare financial analysis reports for renewals and other sales projects.

8) Prepare paperwork for USPS and UPS mailings.

9) Prepare sales tax reports for subscription and product sales.

10) Process payments and put together bank deposits.

11) Track and manage inventory.

12) Maintain subscription department manual of operations.

13) Assist on other circulation and magazine-related projects as necessary.

14) Train and manage subscription staff.

15) Prepare invoices, statements and reports for advertising, newsstands, and subscriptions.

16) Maintain subscription department manuals of operations.

 

HOURS
40 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Lunch from 12-1 except Friday 1-2. Additional hours may be required from October 1 through January 1.

 

ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

1) Eligible for group health and dental insurance after 8 weeks. Company pays 70% of employee cost. Spouse is paid 100% by employee.

2) Eligible for company-sponsored SIMPLE IRA plan after 18 months.

3) Paid vacation begins after one year of service: 1-2 years = 1 week paid vacation; 3-7 years = 2 weeks paid vacation.

4) Paid holidays.

5) Paid sick days after one year of service: 3 per year.

6) Continuing education: Company pays 50% of tuition, books and fees, up to $500 per year.

7) Maternity leave: Up to six weeks of leave after one year of service, of which three weeks shall be paid leave at 100% of 40 hrs/week. One week of paid leave added with each year of service up to six weeks

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND BACKGROUND

1) 4-year college degree

2) Marketing education/experience

3) Accounting education/experience

4) Business management education/experience

5) Data entry experience

6) Financial analysis skills

7) Phone and customer-service skills
