The Mysterious Page 89

We've heard from a few readers about the missing page in the January/February 2007 issue. OK, more than a few. On page 19, our “10th Anniversary FAQ” ended with the following:

(continued on p. 89)

And of course that issue of the magazine has only 88 pages. Our editor, David Bristow, thought this was a pretty good joke – a clever way of not naming a favorite Nebraska town (because we love 'em all).

We're going pretend that this isn't a failed attempt at humor. We're going to assume that for our readers, the very thought of missing a page of Nebraska Life is so terrible, so panic-inducing, as to block out all other thoughts.

Something like that, anyway. By the way, did we mention we've teamed up with Roger Welsch and the International Liar's Hall of Fame for a Nebraska tall tale contest? Look for plenty of colorful falsehoods in the March/April 2007 issue. Just not on p. 89. Honest.
