May/June 2015 Web Bonus Recipe - Basic Crème Pie

If you picked up a copy of our May/June 2015 issue, then you may just have a high-in-the-sky hankering for some extra crispy, gooey goodness. Here's one more pie recipe that should help satisfy your cravings for the sweet & crème-y.
Basic Crème Pie
This recipe was shared with us by The Pioneer Inn in Gilead, Nebraska.
2 cups milk
dash of salt
½ stick butter
4 level Tbsp. flour
2 egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla
Mix flour and sugar in saucepan. In large bowl mix milk, salt, butter. Whip eggs in to mixture and add with other ingredients in saucepan. Cook over medium heat while stirring constantly. Remove from heat when mixture comes to a boil. Stir in vanilla. Pour into pie shell and allow to cool before serving.
